Reinventing Nepalese Festivals with AR Filters

Bhai Tika, the most cherished day of Tihar, is celebrated on the premise of love, puja, beautiful hues, flowers, and delicacies prepared especially for one’s brother. The merry day perfectly wraps up the festival of lights with feelings of love and renewal of the brother-sister bond. However, for some, Tihar is no longer as shiny as it once used to be. With many Nepalese now choosing to work and live abroad, many brothers are left with empty foreheads and countless sisters have no one to put tika on.

Redesigning the website for Alternative Technology

Alternative Technology is a global company focused on computer graphics innovation for custom carpets. Their products allow rug-makers worldwide to design, market and sell custom rugs even before they are produced.

The corporate website redesign project started with a brief discussion on the concept – to redesign the website to tell a pictorial story of the current and future innovations and how they apply to the industry.

"Accessibility for Inclusion" with National Federation of the Disabled - Nepal

National Federation of the Disabled Nepal (NFDN) is a legally registered non-governmental organization (NGO) under the institutional enrollment act of Nepal. It is the national umbrella body of persons with disabilities that represents more than three hundred member organizations working for promoting the rights of disabled people throughout the country.

A random phone call to NFDN during an Assistive Technology hackathon led me to be a part-time consultant for the project “Accessibility for Inclusion”. The goal of this project was to input the wheelchair accessibility information of 1200 places in the Kathmandu valley on OpenStreetMap (OSM).
